What information we collect
When you submit the quotation form on this site, we collect:
- your name;
- your telephone number;
- your postcode;
- the type of veranda you are interested in;
- basic information about how you reached this page (for example, which advert or search term brought you here, the page address, and the referring website). This helps us understand which of our advertising works.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) needed to operate and secure the website.
Why we use your information and our lawful basis
We use the details you submit to contact you about your quotation request, arrange a survey if you would like one, and prepare your written quotation. Our lawful basis is that this processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
We use the advertising-attribution information (such as which advert you clicked) on the basis of our legitimate interests in measuring and improving our advertising (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). It is not used to build profiles of individuals.
Submitting the form does not sign you up to marketing. We will not add you to a marketing list without asking you separately.
How your enquiry is handled
Form submissions are delivered to us through our website hosting platform and by email notification to our business email address. A member of the Houseproud team then contacts you directly about your enquiry.
Who processes your information
- Netlify, Inc. — hosts this website and processes form submissions on our behalf. Netlify may process data on servers outside the UK, subject to appropriate safeguards under its data-processing terms.
- Google (email) — our business email is a Gmail address, so enquiry notifications are processed by Google's email service.
- Google (analytics and advertising) — only if you consent to non-essential cookies (see "Cookies and advertising technology" below).
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting survey, quotation or installation, including any applicable guarantee period, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry details at any time (see "Your rights" below). Where the law requires us to keep certain records — for example for tax or accounting purposes — we may need to retain them for the required period even after such a request.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have your information erased (this right is not absolute — legal retention obligations may apply);
- restrict or object to our processing of your information;
- receive a copy of information you provided to us in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
How to make a privacy request
To exercise any of these rights, contact us by email at houseproudscm@gmail.com, by telephone on 01782 827970, or by post to our registered office at 13 Station Street, Stoke-on-Trent, England, ST6 4ND. We will respond within one month.
Right to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, or by telephone on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies and advertising technology
This website works without setting any non-essential cookies. Essential functionality — such as remembering your form entry during your visit — uses your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab and is not used to track you.
If we enable analytics or advertising measurement (for example Google Analytics or Google Ads conversion tracking), a consent banner will ask for your permission first. Non-essential cookies and tracking scripts are not loaded unless you accept them, and you can reject them or manage your preferences in the banner. Where such tools are enabled, they help us understand how visitors use this page and measure whether our advertising is effective.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
